"Dance is the hidden language of the soul" -Martha Graham
"As we make the journey through life, let it be dance that brings out the wall flower and the inner beauty to make us a better and stronger person."
AGSD's Dance Company is a dynamic performance group of dancers that combines the style of Jazz, grace of Ballet, creativity of Modern/Lyrical, rhythm of Tap and attitude of Hip Hop dance. The Company is a group of dedicated students who are looking to push themselves to become the very best.
Anti-Gravity School of Dance is dedicated to bringing the joy of dance to as many students as possible. One way we do this is through our many community outreach programs.
AGSD Scholarship Program
With the lack of funds in local schools, and households, AGSD has started offering a one-year scholarship for under-privileged youth. Every year, five students are selected to receive a scholarship that covers a large portion of their tuition cost. The goal of this program is to help children between the ages of eight and eighteen who aspire to become dancers, but lack the financial backing to attend classes.
Owner and Artistic Director Felicia Fry also volunteers her time at local schools. Felicia donates her time to Kaseberg Elementary every winter to help the students put together a Winter Pageant. Their Winter Pageant is a performance of all of the dance numbers the students learn during Felicia's six week program with them.
Felicia is also currently working with Center High School to develope a dance team. She has also started an after-school program for John Adam's Academy to not only teach students how to dance, but the history of dance as well.
Support for Charitable Fundraisers
Along with donating time at local schools, Felicia has offered the AGSD facility for multiple fundraisers. Some of the causes AGSD has supported are Juvenile Diabetes, The American Heart Association, The Susan G. Koman Foundation, UC Davis MIND Institute for Autism, and HelpHOPELive.
